RULES

1. GENERAL RULES
For the general rules see Elftown Creature Marathon#RULES!

Copied art is NOT permissible in Elftown's Official Contests. Please see: Copying vs Fanart & Referencing.

2. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT ONE (1) ENTRY
Exceptions might be offered if there is a valid reason for it. But, if you do submit more than one image, you will greatly lower your chance of winning, as the votes for your style will be spread out on two entries.

3. ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN!
To upload your image full-size you can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.

4. THEME
Any entry that does not follow the "Centaur theme", will be removed.
If you feel any of the entries break the rules, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up yet. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid.

5. MEDIUM
All mediums, excepting photography (and/or manipulations) and animations will be accepted.

REMEMBER THE GOAL: We want the BEST QUALITY images to represent Elftown having the best Centaur Page on the Internet as part of the Elftown Creature Marathon!

6. POLL
When the finalists are posted in the Main Street Poll or on a public poll page, the participants are not allowed to beg for votes for their own entry. Do not ask people to vote for your entry via private messages, guestbook messages, moods, wikis, or by any other means. Your entry will be disqualified if you are caught doing so. It is perfectly fine to advertise THE POLL, however.

Brief description:

Centaurs are creatures which are half human, and half horse. They have the arms, torso and head of a human, and the body and legs of a horse. They are traditionally male. But since we live in modern times, we accept female centaurs as well.

2010-04-26 [Alexi Ice]: Maybe they don't know what a horse tail looks like? the BODY part looks like a horse to me. The horns could just give it a little spice. I say it's fine but I will defenitly ask the other mods about it.
The thing is, though, since ECM is a 'typical' fariy tale contest and the entries have to be the most...um...you know what I mean, then a few of these entries wouldn't make the cut either. The way I see it, anyway

2010-04-26 [Alexi Ice]: [Daisy_Sandybanks] - The ECM mods would like to ask you if you could make a couple of changes to your entry to make it more of a typical Centaur (remove the horns and possibly fix the tail.) Unfortunatly the ECM is for 'typical' entries and yours is not quite typical. Sorry and thanks

2010-04-27 [Aeolynn]: Hey Akane, my sculpture for the ECM gryphon wasn't a typical grpyh, yet it was accepted. But then again... that was sort of unchangeable while a digital drawing is... XD

Just wanted to put that out there.

2010-04-27 [windowframe]: How was yours not a typical gryphon? I just went and re-checked, and it still looks typical to me. (but there's also slightly more lee-way in the description of a gryphon - there's not set rule about where it has to change from being eagle to being lion, etc.

2010-04-27 [Aeolynn]: oh yeah very true. Just everyone thinks bald eagle/lion is typical though... mine was more panther/mountain lion/pheasant if you looked closely at the feathers XD!

I hardly had any time to work on the drawing I wished to make,
started on a new one today, already in coloring stage, there's a lined version on my page, hope I get it finished before the deadline!

2010-04-27 [arthemis_]: Mine is typical, I used multiple images of mustangs as reference for the lower body. Mustangs are a horses, right? :P Up part is supposed to be male ;) As for number 5, I don't know, the body part is much too lean for it to be a cow's, only the tail and the horns are cow-ish to me.

2010-04-28 [Aeolynn]: I agree, just a slight difference between it and a regular centaur, and if anyone looked at it, they would say centaur. But the judges do have a point that it does not look like a typical centaur
